Whey Protein Mug Cake in 1 Minute

| |

I’ve been talking to a lot of people about “eating” during the quarantine.  Most of the people are working from home and are being surrounded by food all the time.

The current situation with the bad news and stress can be overwhelming which can lead us to want comfort food. I mean, that is perfectly fine but we need to be strategic.

I am not a fan of restrictions or binging because they mainly occur in a vicious cycle and lead to another. Instead, I try to focus on eating enough Protein, green vegetables, drinking enough water throughout the day and staying physically active.  This helps me manage my hunger and cravings, stress and energy levels throughout the day.

I typically like to have dessert every day and I mostly opt-in for a healthier dessert like this DELICIOUS whey protein mug cake.

How To Make Whey Protein Mug Cake

It takes one minute to make and less than one minute to cook.

Ingredients for 2 mugs:

  • 2 scoops of chocolate whey protein
  • 2 teaspoons of cocoa powder (order here)
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • ½ cup of low-fat milk

In a bowl, mix the whey Protein, cocoa and baking powder, then add the milk and mix everything together.

Pour the mixture into mugs so that you fill just over a half.

Place the mugs in the microwave for 30 seconds. See what condition they are in and extend for another 5-10 seconds if necessary. You want the cake to remain somewhat liquid and resemble a lava cake.

If you overdo it with the microwave, the cake will be quite dry, but even then you can fix the situation by adding the toppings such as chocolate chips or berries. My favourite topping is peanut butter. Yummy!

I hope I inspired you for a healthy dessert during a quarantine.
